Wilson-Taylor sticks in the irons following that last-start placing and has race experience over a lot of these. Can go one better. MINGELA (3) is on debut here but has showed ability at the trials and is sure to be well-educated from the Gollan barn. Draws low for gun hoop Williams and a strong first-up showing would not surprise. WANNABE BRUTAL (15) has been thereabouts in all three starts to date and will strip fitter second-up from the spell. In the mix. KAHLUA GIRL (11) didn't measure up in Group 3 company at the latest effort but will find this assignment much more to her liking. Worth another chance. Sure to find task much easier and looks very hard to toss. GREEN SPRING (2) only narrowly went down at Ipswich on debut and was well in the betting on that occasion. Where there's smoke there's fire and can play a major role in the outcome. PROVOKER (5) has been thereabouts in both outings to date and is another that has been well in commission. Respect from the Freedman barn. SWEET PRETENDER (15) placed at Listed level two back before failing in the same company at the latest effort. Worth another chance. EGYPTIAN GODDESS (9) best of the rest despite the wide draw.

RACE 3 - GREEN SPRING (5) just ran into one better at Ipswich on debut and was heavily supported on that day. Is sure to have derived a stack of benefit from that race-day experience and looks the one they all have to run down. FRENCH EMPIRE (2) resumes here but the form he showed in his first preparation was good enough to feature in a race of this nature. Can return a winner. CAMBRIDGE BAY (4) came back in good order with a solid Ipswich third and will strip fitter for that hit-out. Top-three candidate. Former NSW galloper NORTHERN EAGLE (9) wasn't too far away when having his first run for the new stable and will find this easier than what he faced down south. Can sneak into the finish. BATTESIMO (3) will be better for that debut effort and only needs some luck from the wide draw to play a role in the finish.

RACE 4 - USA import JILLAROO (7) puts some interest into this contest. Looked good in her local debut when second at Caulfield and will find this race much more to her liking. SATURDAYS GIRL (10) put in a career-best performance when runner-up at the Gold Coast last time out and must be respected from the Waller yard. Can continue the upward spiral. CASTERLY ROCK (1) was too bad to be true at the latest effort but the four runs to commence the campaign were full of merit. Can bounce right back to form against this lot. SHAMOUTI (11) will be at peak fitness now fourth-up from the spell and gets Melbourne Cup winning hoop Dolan on board. One for the multiples. DURBAN HARBOUR (2) strips fitter second-up, draws the inside marble and gets 2kg off with the claim. Ticks a few boxes.

INDAZA (8) was a touch flat at the latest effort but go on the solid Ipswich victory two back. The Gollan/Williams combination cannot be ignored. METCALFE (10) strips fitter third-up from the spell and must be respected from the Archibald yard. Don't discount. VERMILION KIRIN (4) is one from one over this track and trip and looks one for the exotics players.

RACE 8 - FLYING AURELIUS (3) didn't put a hoof wrong winning all three starts in his first preparation before being tipped out for further time to mature. Tuned up for this with a recent trial placing here and can continue the picket fence. CASTILLIAN (2) is a consistent conveyance who has hit the top-five in eight of his past nine starts and has placed two from three over this course and distance. Is usually thereabouts and cannot be underestimated. MISTER BIANCO (7) got the chocolates at the Gold Coast last time out and Rodd stays in the stirrups. Can go back-to-back. MAYNE (11) loves this distance range with two wins and a placing from four attempts. Include in calculations. ALDOLFITO (5) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on.
