Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - SHE'SADARE (1) won comfortably here and then returned and just missed as favourite. She will use an inside barrier and keeps the 3kg claim. She can bounce back. JAZZ ALL KNIGHT (3) stretched out to win comfortably here this grade. Maps better today, and she's capable of repeating the dose. BEAU ROCK (2) has been plainer in his last two from awkward gates. Jumps from the paint today and can use it. Led and won comfortably here on the grass three back, and JVO takes over from a 3kg apprentice. A sharper effort is likely. TANTALUM (12) won here first up at this level and has more to give. Proven second up and has to be considered. BURROWA (5) drops back to a sprint, and Loy is a key jockey engagement, replacing the 3kg apprentice. Draws well and could surprise.
RACE 2 - UNREAL EXPECTATION (2) debuts and has trialled well at Hawkesbury. Lever sticks, and he draws inside. Looks to have plenty of ability, and this is a winnable assignment. LIGHTLY SPARKLED (5) brought strong form to Goulburn first-up but didn't finish it off (vet cleared). She will be sharper today and keeps the 1.5kg claim. Should go close. AZZUCCA (4) resumes and draws inside. She's good enough, and a bold run is likely. MCTOMINAY (1) won a trial and looked a run short at the Sapphire Coast on debut. He will likely push forward, and strips fitter. It's hard to risk the Loy-Pepper linkage. BOSCO (3) led and missed 2L at Wagga on debut, jumping favourite. He runs along, and JVO is a positive jockey engagement.
RACE 3 - XSPIRITOUS (5) peaks and has been threatening a win in CL3s. She has her first try on the synthetic and gets her chance in this lineup. BAGGAGE HANDLER (1) is up from Wodonga and creates plenty of interest. Two back, he was an easy 58 winner at Albury first-up and then was in the market at Moonee Valley and had excuses. He owns a trial win, and Souquet comes to ride. Keep very safe. MISS SCOOP (6) was quickly back on track, placing at the Sapphire Coast in a CL3. Keeps the handy 2kg claim and has claims if the awkward barrier is managed. WEGOTABETTERHOFFA (7) has been around the mark and went well enough here two back. In the mix.
RACE 4 - LONDON BOY (2) has been beaten a whisker in his last two and was backed off the map at Goulburn last time. He's on a quick backup and gets in well with the 4kg claim. Has the outside barrier but is good enough to manage. COLD MIST (1) has been beaten 1L here in his last two. He led last time and gets the opportunity to do the same here. Krogh sticks, and he's a winning chance. ROUGE HOMME (5) just missed a place here last time, quickly back to form. Maps well and will strip fitter. He's capable of fighting out the finish. SUPERIOR FUN (11) has been kept on the fresh side and drops back to a sprint. Has a wide gate but her near miss at the Sapphire Coast two back rates strongly. The 4kg claim brings her into it.
RACE 5 - Metro-trained LIMBURG (5) peaks and has been busting to win in stronger Maidens. He was backed off the map at Goulburn last time. He has a near miss at Moonee Valley in the CV, and on a 7-day return, the extra metres shouldn't bother. REMADOSI (9) has missed a whisker in her last two over a mile. She's in a leading local stable and is a danger. LUCKY STAR (6) raced forward and found a place here last time over 1900m. The inside gate will advantage, and he's capable of making the finish. I AM A ROCKSTAR (10) was on speed in the same contest and folded up. The shorter trip should suit better and his best would see him around the mark.
RACE 6 - CRAVING MAGIC (4) had been threatening this grade on the turf before his nose defeat here as favourite. Keeps JVO, and he can go one better. MOGO MAGIC (1) was also beaten by a nose in the same contest. Keeps the handy 4kg claim and he's raced well in strong metropolitan races. He's likely to push forward again and give a big sight. CHOP THE ICE (5) won that race coming hard. Carries more weight, and the inside barrier needs managing. A hope if things go his way. LOVE SHUCK (2) would win at best, but has struggled his last two on wet tracks. He won't have that impediment today and needs to be kept on side. XCEPTIONAL FELLA (8) was plain here last time but was beaten a nose at the track prior. This is stronger, but he maps better and carries 3kg less.
RACE 7 - IRISH JIG (2) won his Maiden here, and then came back and missed a whisker from the front in stronger than this. He looks well placed to break back. ANGEL IN THE WIND (4) resumes for a sharp stable and has switched from the Pride yard in Sydney. She has been racing well in stronger provincial contests and expect her to be wound up for a suitable assignment. Krogh rides and out of an inside barrier will give her every chance. CIFONELLI (3) came from the back and overpowered the Maiden here second-up. Impressed, and draws better today. He looks capable of taking the next step. KING TAURUS (1) needed the first-up outing and would be competitive at best. Presents on a 7-day return and the 4kg claim is handy.
