Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - TWILIGHT ELEGANCE (4) Dundeel filly who stretches out to her right trip third up. Put paid to a handy field first up when coming from back in the field for a game Super Maiden victory over 1400m at Kembla. Drifted back from the good draw and failed to get into the contest when sixth over 1600m at Wyong. Winning rider back aboard and expected to go close. MALBORK CASTLE (1) rewarded for his consistency at his fourth run back when a game on pace winner over 1800m here. Drops slightly in weight and good enough to win again. PRO VELOCITY (8) deep into her prep and maps to get a better run today. Worked hard early from the wide gate when a plugging fourth over 2100m at Gosford. Doesn't have to improve much to get off the mark. MURPHILLY (7) looks the best of the rest after chipping away late when third over this trip at Gosford.
RACE 2 - COLD BREW (1) excellent return for his second prep when he kept finding with the 59kg to secure second over 1150m at Randwick Kensington. Gets all the map favours again and looks too good for these. WILD THOUGHTS (4) resumes after chipping away late on debut when an encouraging third over 1300m at Kembla Grange. Clearly strengthened over the break and fitted with the one smart 800m trial win. Will be attacking the line late. RUN THE RED LIGHT (5) comes here in peak condition at her fourth career start with Ly's 3kg claim. Trained on the track and can sneak into the minor money. SISTER'S RUN (8) Contributer filly from Isle Du Cap on debut for the in-form John Sargent yard. Fitted with two average trials and expected to lift under race conditions with the claim.
RACE 3 - LE CHOCOLAT (4) resumes from a spell of nine months and looked close to a win before that break, finishing off with a minor placing over 1500m at Newcastle. Fitter for a minor placing in a recent Rosehill trial. Strong winning chance on best figures. OSO SPIRITED (8) resumed over 1400m at Randwick Kensington when sitting on the pace before fading in the straight to finish sixth. Strips fitter in this easier assignment and will take catching. JAMARNI (3) is close to a win and fitness will take him a long way here. On the quick backup after running third over 1300m here on June 17. No excuses today. DEVOTED TO YOU (7) So You Think filly from Not Only Florina on debut for the Waterhouse & Bott yard. Had four trials in readiness for this and the blinkers go on. Keep safe.
RACE 4 - MISS JUDAS (5) showed ability last time in and looks set for a bright return in a winnable race. Leading rider booked after scoring a sharp 900m trial win at Rosehill. Can stalk the fast tempo and get over the top of them. EFHARISTO (2) resumes from a lengthy break and has a stack of upside. No match for Erno's Cube over the closing stages on debut, when second over 900m at Newcastle nineteen months ago. Returns with the two trials and the tongue-tie goes on. ZING TO ME (9) blundered badly on resumption and over-raced when a fading sixth over 1100m at Gosford. Much better than that and assess on her good debut placing last year. Each-way. EXOTIQUE (11) held a forward position on debut before fading in the straight to run fourth over 1100m at Gosford. Further improved and can run into the minor money.
RACE 5 - THE GREY (4) is ready to peak in this contest and worth noting his lone win came over this track and trip. Trained locally and winning rider goes back aboard after proving no match for Cassiel when third over 1100m here. Expected to race closer and prove hard to hold out. MR ROCK IT (1) carries the big weights well and gets Durnan's 3kg claim again. Kept fresh after surging late in the heavy going when second over 1000m at Kembla Grange. Distance suits on the firmer surface. EVERYONE'S A STAR (2) deep into her prep and drops in grade and trip. Struck trouble at the start and never looked to be travelling comfortably when a poor eleventh over 1200m at Rosehill in Midway class. Tempo suits and can finish over the top of these. RUSSIAN ZARINA (11) assess on earlier efforts when scoring in this grade at this track and trip three back.
RACE 6 - THE REPLICANT (4) bumped into some handy types last prep and returns with a good fresh record. Blinkers come off and gets nice weight relief with Stapleford's 3kg claim. Fitted with the two soft trials and will be strong late. AUDREY'S LANE (2) good fresh mare resuming on her home track. Stretched out in trip last campaign and both wins have come over this distance. Given the two searching trials and maps to stalk the speed. Goes close. BELLA CORAZON (11) gritty performance at her first run back in the heavy (8) conditions when second over 1250m at Newcastle. Stable rider goes on and will keep improving as she gets out in trip. Each way. NYMPHADORA (8) this looks a more suitable race after covering ground when eighth over 1400m at Rosehill in BM72 grade. Blinkers come off and capable of improving.
RACE 7 - Tough contest to end the day. KYEEMA (1) deep into the prep and rewarded for his consistency at fourth run back when scoring over 1400m at Randwick Kensington. Gets a similar setup today and is capable of going on with the job with the weight rise. HEAVEN BOUND (6) trained on the track. Failed to get into the contest on resumption when sixth over 1550m at Canterbury in BM72 grade. Tackling a more suitable race and proven second up. Sharp improver. AUTUMN DREAM (4) well bred filly with upside who will relish the extra trip. Even return with the 61kg when third over 1400m at Newcastle. Winning rider hops aboard and has each way claims. TOMBA (3) another from the Archibald yard who showed plenty of ability last time in. Never comfortable on the heavy going first up when seventh over 1400m at Newcastle. Proven second up and the blinkers come off. Will appreciate the firmer track.
