RACE 1 - Nice race to kick off the card with some promising two-year-olds engaged. SATISFIED MUGS (1) is one of them who has only missed a drum once in seven career starts, and that came in the rich QTIS Jewel at the Gold Coast back in March. Gets some weight relief with the 2kg claim and should prove very hard to hold out. NOOSHBAHOOSH (8) was well found at Cairns on debut and didn't let supporters down with a dominant victory. Will be high on confidence now and can make it back-to-back wins to commence the career. BANG STICK (2) has won two from two around this circuit and gets the benefit of Wiggins in the irons. Top-three aspirations. PROFITS PRAYER (3) saluted over this six-furlong journey last time out and Stanley sticks in the saddle. In the mix.
RACE 2 - Former Victorian RAVENITE (2) just ran into a couple better here at his local debut and is sure to have come on with that run now under the belt. Should find this easier than what he faced down south and will be right there when the whips are cracking. BADLIFEDECISION (6) is unlucky to still be a maiden finishing runner-up in five of her past seven outings. Has to be included. HERE'S TO POWER (11) has been competing in harder south east QLD contests and will appreciate the drop back in grade here. Can play a role in the outcome. SECRET BOOM (5) has placed five of his past six and is best of the rest from the inside alley.
RACE 3 - BOOM CRUSHER (1) has been knocking on the door of a maiden victory with three consecutive runner-up finishes and strikes a very winnable contest here. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside marble and can go one better against this lot. ROTHWEILER (7) is having his first run for the new stable but has shown ability in recent Toowoomba and Ipswich efforts and should find this assignment more to his liking. Sure to be right there at the business end. PRIDE OF SAVABELLA (6) wasn't too far away last time out and should appreciate the extra trip here. Top-three commodity. GRUMPYWANTSATISSUE (8) has placed at the past couple and may earn some minor money again. FINE AND RARE (2) has placed six of seven over this mile journey and is one for the exotics players.
RACE 4 - BO BO BEWARE (2) has a handy record over this circuit with a win and five placings from just seven spins. Handles all going and a return to the winners' stall would not surprise. DUBALENE (7) shed the maiden tag at the latest outing and will have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Draws the inside alley and can go right on with the job now. MR GREY (6) saves his best form for this course and distance with a win and three placings from just five attempts. Include in calculations. SMOKIN' DE QUO (5) has hit the frame at the past couple of efforts and looks a must for the multiples. BELMONT PARK (3) strips fitter second-up from the spell and may trouble the judge from the favourable draw.
RACE 5 - MAJOR LOOK (11) is having his first run for the new stable but should find this easier than the recent Sunny Coast outings. Will be rock-hard fit for this and has the class to build on recent efforts. ORCA (4) resumes here but has won when first-up before and is a two-time winner at this track. Can run a race while fresh. THE BRILL BUILDING (5) has placed two of three over this trip and gets the services of Butler in the irons. In the mix. NORTHUMBRIA (3) goes well for Satherley who has a win and three placings from seven steers. Capable of a strong showing. BARELLO (7) strips fitter second-up from the spell and may trouble the judge from the favourable draw.
RACE 6 - OBLIGATED (2) loves it here on his home circuit with four wins and two seconds from just eight starts and is racing with a lot of confidence this campaign. Has a good association with hoop Butler and is sure to be right there when the judge calls a halt. DIVINE OKAY (1) has placed two from three at this track and is more than capable enough on his day. Watch for a better performance. ROARING SUCCESS (10) is nicely weighted here and will be at peak fitness for this. Top-three contender. MOON OVER MATILDA (8) has a solid record over this six-furlong journey only missing the quinella spot once in six attempts. Hard to knock mares in form. BEAUTY BOOM (3) rounds out the selections in a race with only a handful of chances.
RACE 7 - FLYING ANIMO (16) was heavily supported at Townsville on debut and didn't let backers down with a dominant victory. Looks the runner in this field with the most upside and is expected to go very close again. UNCUT GEM (4) had been competing at Listed level before the spell and will find this task a stack easier than those efforts. May run a race while fresh. TAHKIAN BUBBLES (10) is a winner around this circuit and gets some weight relief with the claim. In the mix on best form. LITTLE IFFY (18) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be discounted. THORMENDOUS MISS (12) is yet to put in a poor one and is a must for the multiples.
RACE 8 - It's hard to knock EARLY FUSION (5) who has strung five wins together on the bounce with three of those victories coming around this circuit. Is racing in a rich vein of form and can continue the purple patch. OBLIGATED (15) loves it here on his home circuit with four wins and two seconds from just eight attempts. Keep very safe. BOOMING LAD (7) is two from two over this course and distance and rarely puts in a poor one. Top-three candidate. ACROPHOBIC (1) is a three-time winner here and has the gate speed to take up a forward position. Sure to give backers a sight. NORTHERN PRIDE (3) best of the rest while fresh.
